We all hear the henned up excuse used when hunting goes south at times during the season. However, I spent most of today on my place, heard zero gobbles, but saw groups of gobblers all by themselves, 3, 3, and 2. Not the same birds, too much distance separated them with not enough time between sightings to be the same birds. I also saw another group of 4, but I'm reasonably sure that they were jakes. I did watch 2 different hens this afternoon which were within sight of the 2 gobblers. Neither the hens or the gobblers had any interest in each other. Their lack of interest is as if it were mid-summer.

Seen several male birds in a flock monday, this season sux!!!

come on B! it has been a hard season but I have yet to hunt where i didnt hear birds gobbling. In my spots it seems they are finally starting to gobble once they are on the ground which is nice.

still acting strange and I too have seen some odd male groups around but have had birds come into calling the past 4days.

dont use one lol from what i hear they seem to gobble late there thats why i want to hunt it.the birds are done after a couple weeks where i hunt.I dont mean to fluffy kitten bc ive killed three already but have only hunted 4 days.I like to hear them gobble and they don't late season at my lease so if i can hunt another few weeks each year and hear birds gobble then that would be better

Naw no quit in me. I will just kill em crawling and stalking. More fun to call em though.
x2, I have resorted to deer hunting them, hate when they aren't talking or responding to calls.

I guess a feller can no longer comment on his observations without it being whinning. Hmmm.

I was expecting a less than average season on the few places I have to hunt. Most grew up and got thick early due to the nice warm March. Just seems like hens are nesting earlier with the good nesting conditions.

I had 9 different hens walk by the blind this morning without a gobbler to be seen anyplace. I had the blind in a field where they normally strut, but they were no shows, no gobbles, nothing. I couldn't believe 9 hens came by me and there was not a gobbler with any of them.

I ain't seen a bearded turkey while hunting since opening day, all I see is hens. I've seen a few while going down the road though. Been wondering if they were grouped up.

It is OK to comment on how our hunts go.

Now you are whining.

It was a joke hence the smiley face I put at the end. Get your panties out of a wad.
