First off thanks for all the feedback on scopes, chokes, bases, etc for my new to me 870. I decided to go with the Pentax Lightseeker and got it mounted this afternoon. Put the kicks gobblin thunder choke in and now just have to get her dialed in. So far I love it and can't wait to see what she'll do.

I think you will like that scope!

If you can move it forward any, you may want to. Even though the eye relief on the scope is good, the recoil with the heavy turkey loads is significant, and scope eye isn't fun. And, one of the stick on foam cheek pieces for the stock will raise your head into a more natural position for looking through the scope, and is great for cushioning the blow to your cheek/jaw from the recoil.

That scope looks to be mounted pretty far back. Watch out for scope eye with them turkey loads

I think the pic makes it look farther back than it is. I'll check it again and see if i can move it forward any and still see out of it. I had a scope on my 835 and I don't think anything can kick like it did.

agreed, I've always said they are without question the best choke made if you are shooting lead! they shoot HTL good as well but they are in a world of their own when it comes to lead.
