How does it work?

I have and anyone that has played sports before KNOWS that weather plays a key role in sports. Condition of the field. The type of field. The cleats you come out with depending on field condition. Heck even the pros in the NFL come out unprepared or get the wrong equipment wrong on game day sometime. It happens.
Backyard badminton doesn't count.

There may be a 2-5 degree weather difference on the campuses

Weather affects the play but I don't think OSU has any kind of advantage over UT with regard to weather conditions. UT can run the ball and stop the run so they have a chance. OSU has home field advantage which probably accounts for most of the points they are favored by.

Both teams seem to be evenly matched; maybe a little better defense for OSU and a little better offense for UT. UT defensive line and OSU defensive line are legit. OSU is missing their starting center who won the Rimington Trophy this year. The trenches are where the game will be won or lost. I think the OSU offensive line will perform a little better against UT's defensive line than UT's offensive line against OSU's defensive line.

This thread has drifted a bit from a question and answer regarding what the over/under number means...
