don't know how fast, but I favor a heavier projectile, and see no reason why one would not pull back as much weight as he/she finds comfortable in conditions likely to be encountered.
I thought my bow was loud, then I stood next to guy with a bow 20 years newer. He shot and liked to have scared me to death. Sounded like a .22 going off. He was shooting near 300. The best I'm going to get on a good day is around 220. But when that arrow hits it hits hard.
