How is everyone's season going so far?

I hunt bow all season long.
Same here, I just bowhunt (even during the gun season). I have seen allot of deer compared to the last couple seasons, the movement was slow for the first two weeks of October, But the last week and half have been much better with the cooler temps.

I have killed 3 does for the freezer, and have next Monday (28th) off from work to start looking more seriously for some horns.

As far as deer numbers/sightings this year seems to be a little above average so far.

Keep'em Sharp and good hunting :)

It's been a slow dull start with little deer movement! This last week things began to pick up significantly and I shot 3 slicks. the week before I 12 ringed a coyote!

These next 2 weeks before MZ will have me out there every minute I can spare!

Started out HOT and slow.
But it has picked up lately.

My son has killed 2 does, a button (oops!) and 2 coyotes.

I have killed 3 does (one of which we found the remains of yesterday that coyotes had eaten), and the largest buck I ever killed at AEDC in 32 years. A 9 point at least 3.5 years old, probably 4.5, that dressed out 150 pounds.
I could smell him from 10 yards away.

Going back to the Tree in the morning...hoping to see a decent buck to shoot at. Then next weekend going to Smith county to hunt.

Finally stuck a doe at the 11th hour yesterday. I was concerned I was going to not get a deer with a bow for two years in a row. I will still bow hunt on occassion but I do enjoy some firepower!

Still hunting with the bow here, this is deer #4 for the year. Shot on the opening weekend of Blackpowder rifle season. :)

I can't complain. I've killed 3 so far including my first two off of public ground in TN. I took out both my bow and muzzleloader for the opener Saturday and killed this guy with my bow at 20 yards.

Great for me 2 does this year with the hoyt so far. I may regret it it, but still sticking with it. I'm determined to get a good buck with my bow.

6 tagged so far for me.
5 for my son

My biggest ever doe
My biggest ever AEDC buck.

My sons first ever Illinois Buck. (got it on video)

All public land.

All TONS of fun.

I did have two firsts for my 33 years of bowhunting.
I watched a coyote run off my liver shot doe (only to find her remains many days later)

And then I watched a very rut crazed buck actually RAM his horns into a bedded and dying doe that I had just shot, and then ran her all over down below me in and out of a thicket as she tried to lay down and die.

Bloody mess.

It got dark, and I imagine he ran her into the next county, never to be seen again.

We looked for 8 man hours the next day to no avail.
Found blood and bed, but no doe.

Been an odd one for me. I've been 3x all year. Two of those were at LBL on the gun hunt. All during bow season, I was crappie fishing and loving it. Went once in ML and killed this buck just because it would be the biggest I had ever killed with a ML.

Then hit a stretch of overtime at work that hasn't let up yet...7 days a week. All day, every day. Got to go to the LBL hunt due to vacation. Killed this 9 on the second day:

And I'm pretty much done for the year as far as getting to hunt. The only way I will get to kill another one is if I come home and one is standing in my field, which would technically be just shooting/killing and not hunting.
