How many longbeards are called in?

I'd guess around 60% are killed with the use of decoys statewide, perhaps a tad higher.

Personally, of my kills 100% of woods birds are killed without them, and around 1/3 of the field birds I kill are with a hen decoy. Of those killed over a hen decoy, over half are because the hens come to the decoy and bring the gobbler following them.

I'm surprised at the number of people I hear about that bait turkeys during late winter and back off close to season. This allows them to fill a few tags within the first couple weekends.
I've also read that this baiting habit has negative consequences due to predators and prey being in close proximity.

Guess it might be time to completely ban baiting...but enforcing it would be a completely different hurdle.
