The FG instead of going for TD in the OK game, not going for two against UF, Dobb's throwing problems, the conservative play-calling, the D getting gassed in the 4th QTR, etc.! All of it can be laid at the feet of poor OLine play. Butch doesn't trust them. DeBord doesn't trust them. And Dobb's doesn't trust them. Hard to go through progressions when he has to keep his head on a swivel to see where the pressure is coming from. Hard to hit an open WR (the few chances that happens) when a DLineman is bearing down on you and make you rush the throw.
It is what it is.
The difference in the Arky game is the better team won. We were flat whipped. With that said, Williams turnover inside the 10 or whatever, was a killer. And I have no idea why Dobbs suddenly reverted back to his pre-Gator game self and stopped running. There were several opportunities for big gains had he kept on the zone read instead of giving to the TB.
Oh well. Butch will get two more years, and we will just have to live with it. DeBord needs to go. It will be interesting to see what happens with the assistant coaches after the season.
UF oline has a fordahm transfer and freshman playing. Thought that was the weak link to our offense. Our OLINE coach has worked wonders so far with them. But that could change quick with a injury or two. With TN I think it is play calling instead of the oline. You have a mobile qb, USE him for that. Only problem is he is ONLY mobile and cant make consistent throws. Your coaches should put him in position to be successful with PLAYCALLING. IMO
