Good ideaI step out every track I come across unless I am on my own personal land. You guys do the same?
I was scoping out a place on public land a couple weeks ago and a young man (from Pennsylvania)stopped me on the way out.. have you seen any turkeys? None around here not even a scratch

I believe God made an exception about lying when it comes to turkey hunting. Even preachers who are hardcore turkey hunters will lie about where birds are.

Yes, but I'm even worse than that. I've spooked birds on purpose from the road so no one else will see it.

Lol! This was the first track found since the rain Wed in 10 miles hiking. Pretty easy for me to step out every track I come across!

I prefer to find nests, pull every egg out line them up and play hop scotch using them as targets. 
hahah to be honest this is the first time I have ever even heard this was a thing. Granted I dont hunt public land very often.

As a retired preacher, I resemble that remark!
I look for stomped out and smeared areas and know this is where I need to listen.
I used to do it religiously, but can't remember the last time I did. If he's in the area, I can usually get him to at least shock gobble, even if he's henned up. If he'll gobble one time, that's all I need to know.
