How are you planning for next season? I made a list of things to do before summer. Planning on setting out more stands, food plot planning, figure out camera locations.
A list that never ends. Picked up a new farm so going to learn it. And probably will pick up one more. Stands tractor work habitat work cameras food plots the list is long and never ever ends.
Reset some stands, replenish mineral locations, cut new shooting lanes and scout some new areas. All this before we get leaves. Oh, and scout some public that I discovered no one hunted this past season.
Cutting trees, planting trees, extending trail systems, building a barn.
Lots of scouting until green up then the focus turns to combating invasives. Probably put in another water hole, extending plots and possibly creating a couple more.
Going to plant lots of forbs and wild flowers. Considering a couple bee hives. Going to hang some bat boxes. Gona be a very busy off season.
I'll spend two weekends in February finalizing new stand sites that I picked during hunting season for hang-ons, and moving a few ladder stands. I'll also do major trail clearing to and from stands from a couple of directions to each. The stuff I'll be going through is super thick.
Other than hanging stands in late July, I'll stay out of those woods til mid October. I have plans for habitat improvements in about five years.
