hey all
new to forum and have a question
i recently had to back the poundage down on my bow to around 58 pounds due to shoulder problems, i have a mathews legacy ,shoot carbon arrows and a dropaway rest, since moving the pounds down i really cant shoot 1 pin from close to thrty yards as i use to , if i am on at thirty i shoot high at 10 to 15 yards, i can compensate by aiming low but dont feel real comfortable with doing that beacause i feel i am guessing, would you guys recommend using 2 pins and a range finder
thanks for any input

I use a rangefinder,and use 1 pin.
I hunt and take shots to 35 yds.

I prefer to see more of the animal,so I have less pins.
Especially important in low light conditions.

I shoot a Drenalin at just under 60# also.

I can see where 2 pins may help you.
I just like 1 pin myself.

I have a 4-pin sight, but only use 3. 20,30 and 40.

The bottom pin is set for 100 yds and is only used in very perfect conditions. ;)

Ditto....Except for the 100 yard pin..That's just crazy, but cool at the same time. :D

I just set my sight last night. PSE Stinger, 60 # draw, Approximate 300 fps AMMO, but my arrows are heavier than that. Should be similar speed to your bow.

I have one pin set to dead on at 25 yards. It's no more than 2" high between 10 and 20 yards, and only 4 inches low at 30. I hold bottom third of chest at any shot within 25 yards, center of chest at 25 to 30 yrds, and slowly move up chest for slightly longer shots. Find out haw far you can shoot to get an arrow in kill zone with pin at top of back, and never shoot farther than that.

I've found I've had worse misses by using the wrong pin than by hlding the single pin in slightly the wrong place.

In other words, if I thought the deer was at 20 yards and he was really at 25, i'd have a worse hit if I misjudged him AND used the 20 yard pin. A pin set dead on for 20 yards will drop more at 25 than a pin set at 25 will be off at 20

I use a single pin moveable sight , locked down @ 25 yards for hunting.

That is how I shoot.
I hunt zero to 35 yds.,and this method works for me.
I remove the guesswork by shooting my targets often.

If I hunted at longer distances, I would add a pin or two.

I shoot a 60# Drenalin, and is not fast compared to most other bows people are hunting with. I limit my range to 35 yds,but I found that most of my hunting shots are no longer than 20-25 yds. anyway.

i set my bow tonight with 2 pins and as long as i know the yardage i am deadly out to thirty five yards, but i think i will go back to 1 pin and aim high or low depending on yardage, i hate guessing distance and know when there is a deer on me too many things can go wrong with that
thanks

For the record, I was screwing around about 100 yard pin thing :)
