Yotes have been off pattern at the farm this year, neighbor cleared all the fencerows with an excavator and its screwed up the travel patterns. So I had a brain storm/fart. What about putting a piece of wool 6' up in a bush with the trap bedded in front ? Much like a walk through set or a dirthole only with the bait up in a tree instead of down on the ground with limited scent dispersal.

Got the idea from watching a martin trapping video where a coyote came in and circled the tree with the martin trap, then tried to reach the bait/box with his paws on the tree.

Good idea? Or stupid ?

May very well work sometimes off the wall stuff is the best plan

Pudding! The ground is pudding here after the snow. Probably try a set once it dries out a little towards the end of the week. Really Im just thinking about a pipe dream set only with a 5-6' tall pipe.

Yeah, pudding here too! The wax sand sets look good and had a catch yesterday before the thaw. Supposed to get cold again! Lows in the teens!!!! My catch rates are significantly higher when temps drop below 20!
