Huepel to Oklahoma.

Them saying Oklahoma is coming after him is no different than every vol fan saying saban has lost it when bama loses a gam or doesn't win the NC. Just be happy UT is relevant enough to actually talk about. Saturday is gonna be tough. And get tougher the longer he stays. I personally would love to see him go and y'all get another "brick by brick" coach😂

I wish I had a $1 for every moron that said it's going to be Sabans last year because of his trun over in staff, he lost a championship, did not make the playoffs, lost a game during the regular season insert any excuse. I would have lots of excess play money.

Venables is 6 weeks into a 6 year $45 million deal in a complete rebuild. Let's fire that guy.

That's gonna want someone else to run to OK for sure.

I don't know if he goes or not. I will say OK is paying $2M more for their coach. Now here is the part that's going to make a few heads blow up. I don't think TN is a top 10 coaching job but Ok is. I searched for a single National publication that said it was but couldn't find one.

Look at recent history. TN Last top 10 finish was 2001

Oklahoma has finished in the top 10 8 years in a row.

And what conference do they play in ;) ?

If he leaves, he leaves. I'd thank him for making us relevant again and wish him well.

But, I think he'd stay just like Saban stayed at Bama to enjoy his success of rebuilding a traditional power. I'd like to know how much money Texas dangled in front of him a few years ago. Also, Was Bama a top 10 job when he took over 🤔?

Apply the same sort of logic some of the guys here try to apply about this being a tn board. He is a OK boy. He played for the Sooners. He is a Sooner. Not a vol.
Actually he was not very happy with the firing and hasnt spoken to Stoops since. Couple that with the fact he and Danny White are very close and i dont see Coach jumping ship even for oklahoma. Anything is possible But the same boosters that wanted him fired are the same ones still there !

Texas would be in most people's top 10 and they haven't done anything in 14 years.

Miami has one double digit win season since 04' its on top 10 list.

Most the teams top of that list have been down. Uf has as many 6 or less win seasons then they do 10 win seasons over the last decade. It's still considered a top 5 job

I would have Tennessee top 15 and Oklahoma 10 or 9 don't think it's a huge Gap. OK also had a way easier path in the Big 12 then UT ever did playing in the SEC. That is about to change.

Actually he's not an 'OK boy'.

Huepel was born & raised in Aberdeen S. Dakota.
Played HS football at Aberdeen Central High, was SD player of the year his senior yr.

Played 2 years of college ball before even going to Oklahoma.
Weber St. then Snow College in Utah.
Only played 2 yrs in OK.

Yeah he did great at OK, but he's NOT an "Oklahoma boy".

I think this is a distinct possibility . Of course he is going to say he is happy at tn and of course he is going to do the best job he can possibly do while he is there. That way the offer he gets will be that much better. If and when that day comes it will be crazier than Kiffin leaving I suspect.
At this point, Heupel leaving TN would be akin to the fallout of the stock market crash of the 20s. 😬

You don't think that if he hits 10 wins this season or next he wont make up that $2m gap? They will pay more just to retain him if Tennessee keeps winning

UT already gave him a $1 million raise a few weeks ago. More $$$$ will be thrown his way at the end of the year.

If he was to go Oklahoma when they have a job opening, tennessee can find a replacement. He's such a weirdo.
