Titans defense is better and tampas offensive line is worse so it is not a fair comparison but my nod goes to Mariota.

Titans have not had a QB since Steve McNair,now they have.Better chance of making the playoffs this year.So glad the Buckaneers selected Winston instead of Mariota

He needs a few more weapons they said the titans only kept four receivers.
1 is a rookie,another is a veteran not wanted by his old team.
the O-Line is far from good, average on a good day. The HB play is very inconsistent.
So yes he will have some ugly games his rookie year against good teams. Every rookie does.
But At the moment Mariota has did nothing, but impress everyone.

i know he will have some rough games. There will be some turnovers. He just made history. He will be on everyones radar now. Teams will plan for him. I am in no way expecting perfection. Mariota did good because he played the Bucs,not Winston. Everyone but the Gators could beat the bucs right now.

Agree bucs suck.
But so does the titans? they did finish with the same 2-14 record, And besides the QB change. really not much has changed from last season, Think they got a good LB that has always had Health issues, And a veteran receive, and A O-Lineman who played for the bucs last year that's about it lol.
In fact 80'/, if the experts had the bucs winning! why? Cause the have a better team, dang even me and Mud bone was worried Winston would win big cause the titans suck.
All I'm saying is, If Winston was playing for the titans, and Marcus for the bucs Sunday. I don't think Winstons performance would have been any better. And mariota MAY not have done AS good but still would have put up soild #'s and would have made a game out of it.

Great win for the Titans and great start for Mariotta. I think he is the real deal, but the season is long. Not a lot of passes and most were of the quick decision, quick slant variety. Good game plan. I'm sure the Browns will shut down the quick slants this Sunday, so Mariotta is going to have to sit in the pocket and work through his progressions more this weekend so it will be more of a test. He did seem to have a very quick release, but I don't know if that was the game plan or his release. We'll learn more this Sunday, and the Browns are horrible. He is very smart and a hard worker. Those strong character traits are going to serve him and the Titans well. There are going to be lots of growing pains with Mariotta, but I think the future is looking up.
Of more concern is the injury to Delanie Walker. Haven't heard if he's out or not, but that will hurt. A young QB can't have enough good tight ends.
