Hunting fields - yardage markers

I don't hunt fields often but one spot I was thinking of putting a couple markers out. Maybe 30 yards for the rest of bow season and 100 for gun season. Sometimes it's hard to judge on open fields and might not have time to range. Anyone do this?

I have done it in the woods back when I bow hunted. I just spray panted the yardage on the side of trees in August lol. I have never don't it in a field.

Back in my 1 pin days, I stuck a stick in the ground many times to mark 35 yards. Past that, hold a little high. Inside that, hold a little low. Works great.

I used to do it all the time during bow season.

Usually, most box stands have hunted had the field diagram on the side wall or window opening with the yardage marked. Just used that

You are correct though that yardage estimates in large open ag fields can be challenging.

Get those yardage markers they have at golf driving ranges. Deer will get used to it lol

I usually use flagging tape to mark 100 yards for muzzleloader. Tie it to a cornstalk or push a small stick in the ground.
