I heard the sports writer for the Tennessean on the radio the other day. He said it was possible Hurd put himself in on the punt and the coaching staff didn't realize it until it was too late.
I am not saying that's the case, but something is being covered up

Jalen Hurd has not looked like himself if you ask me. Maybe I just expected too much outta him, but it seems like he's been going down on first contact a lot more than he used to, and like he lost a step or not running as hard or something.
I think the vols may be better off running kamara anyway.
I too am starting to think they are covering up a concussion.

Pretty sure he does indeed have a concussion.
It does look bad on Butch that he was on the field after the injury but like I said, it may have been a case where he got jarred a little and they told him to sit it out for a bit to gather himself. Hurd is a tough kid and was probably telling them the whole time he was Ok. He might have been better later in the game and no doubt wanted to be on the field during that PR to help his team so they put him in. Then this week the headaches and concussion symptoms showed up.

Am I the only one on here that thinks Kamara is an all around better rb than Hurd?
I saw him score on a play yesterday I think Hurd would never have scored on. This year anyway.

Kamara & john kelly looked very impressive yesterday (minus the fumbles) Hurd just never fit CBJs system. his more of a bama type running back Down hill running behind a good blocking FB is the syle of offense that would benefit him.Mudbone":3p6be4yd said:
I think john kelly, and carlin fils-amie will be a pretty good pair of backs for the vols next season. They aslo have 4* Ty chandler coming in next year. The way Hurd has looked this season & he didn't even play Saturday I don't think the vols will miss him very much next season. They might miss his 3 years experience & pass protection that about it.
