By today's standards, many would consider that stand to be unsafe.

Carlos, thank you for the safety alert. Is it due to the "V" bar? I can't find anything on the internet. It appears similar to an Amacker but can't find an exact match. It does have a TMA sticker on it.

The V bar doesn't help make it any safer at all. They hold the tree pretty good, as long as they're adjusted properly.

There's issues with dropping the bolts and nuts for the bar. After using the more modern stands, I just can't trust them like I do the ones made today.

If you are familiar with the newer Summit stands- you know how much they've changed since then.

If you climb with it, make sure you use a safety harness.
