I confess

Also I didn't know what a meme was until last night when roost asked me about them haha. I didn't even know there was such a thing

Is it illegal for a hunter to act as a bird dog and push two flocks of turkeys toward his brother and his friend while they sit in the woods and wait on the unsuspecting turkeys to bush whack them? If it is, I would never do such a thing.

I accidentally snuck up on a roosted bird once, I shot him out of the tree

. Did you "accidentally" shoot him also?
nope I waited till he gobbled and I could see the long beard and I went right ahead and lifted the burden off that tree.

I don't have any crazy stories. Best I can do is one morning I was set up on a pipeline leaned into a big tree. Bird was gobbling on the other side so I had my gun up just waiting until I heard him hit the ground. Had some hens behind me when I heard one fly right over my head. To my surprise it was another gobbler and he was to my right. Within probably 20-30 seconds he was at the end of my barrel and I broke his neck. Quickest hunt I've ever had. I did almost get sprayed by a skunk a year or two ago. Let him walk but he snuck up on me the following weekend within 10' and he is now compost.

I rolled out to the middle of a fairly large field just after day light

Scratching my head over that one, but I would have liked to seen it. You middle TN boys sure do have some odd methods :D !
.

Hahaha hey man I am a mostly self taught turkey hunter until I moved to TN after college and met a guy that really taught me what calling was all about. My dad was a prick so I didn't care to learn much from him.

No regrets here though I learned some very good lessons all in one hunt hahahah. I seriously look back on that day and laugh out loud at how stupid I was at one time when It came to turkeys

Got busted with my britches down to my ankles, gun laying on ground, toilet paper in hand. Strutted into 20 yards and saw the paper, or maybe my bare bottom! Either way, when ya gotta go you gotta go!

I snuck up and bushwhacked a few the first couple of years I turkey hunted. I started when I was 14 because there was no turkey season in my part of the county till 1997 when the birds they stocked in 1991 populated enough to have a season, now we are overrun with turkeys.

I showed up one evening to a big field and saw a group of 5 lbs going into the woods onto the neighbors property. I could see he was hunting by where he parked his truck and knew where he would be. Once they got far enough off I took off to the fence lone to set up. I knew they were headed his way, he had them fired up good, and I figured when he let into them I might catch one trying to escape out the back door. Well sure enough he fired down and here they came hen, hen, jake, and then olé long beard ran past at ten yrds and that's as far as he made it. Few minutes go by and neighbor comes to the fence he had missed. I kind of felt bad but I thanked him for flushing them my way.

that's too bad he missed, but cool story. Reminds me of my first long beard. They came up within 10 yards and one saw me and moved off, the whole flock went out into the field and went 350 yards to another guys blind and decoys. He shot one and the birds wandered back to my side of the field and I shot one at 23 yards. His had good hooks and mine had a good beard, both were over 20 pounds. That was an awesome hunt.
