As the season draws near to an end, I look back and am very thankful for all the opportunities the good Lord gave me. I have hunted hard and put in more days this year than I have in a long time. Killed two does but have yet to kill a buck (hoping for a 9th inning home run). I still have a few days left in me to hunt, but I can definitely hear the fat lady singing in the distance.
Good luck to all of those still hunting.

Good post. I am also extremely grateful that for the first time in my life, I am able to hunt my own piece of property. Reminding myself that it's a marathon and not a sprint and to take my time figuring it out. I will say that I have had the opportunity to take deer on almost every hunt so far but elected not to take the shots. Those are still successful hunts in my opinion.

Despite not having any really good bucks around this season, it has been a somewhat fun season. Was kind of in the same boat here before a couple days ago, I hadn't killed anything by that point though. Plenty of opportunities. Ended up having one I had passed several times give me a quick look, i had just enough time to get my rifle up and I caved and squeezed off a round. Was one of the bigger bodied deer we had seen this season in the field or on trail cams, not much for headgear though. I am still hunting, and maybe just maybe a last minute surprise shows up.

Good luck to you and to everyone else still hunting.

Been in the woods 2 weekends and killed a buck. Was looking forward to this weekend but looks like rain. The last weekend I have a retirement party for a neighbor so I may be done. Was hoping to take my neighbors in an attempt to get the wife her first deer. Got him one two years ago and we struck out with her last year.

Stick it out I've killed several nice bucks on the last day, here's one from years back

It is a Blessing from God just to be able to get out and hunt
Many are unable to do so and God blesses me way more than I deserve

Keep the faith and just get out when you can
Hopefully a great ol biggun will give a shot..

I got sick last week which ruined last weekend. I'm still sick but getting better so it seems. Hope to hunt this weekend if the weather cooperates. It's winding down and I haven't killed anything. Not that its unusual for me not to kill anything. It's actually right on cue for the last several years. But I hope to be well enough to try till the end.
