When I went in the woods the other evening to deer hunt, I spooked a group of gobblers some ran and flew to the right, some ran and flew to the left. About 10 minutes later a gobbler to the right started yelping his head off. He moved up and down the wood lot on the right and started adding and cuts and gobbles and after about an hour, I looked to the left and here comes another long beard three-quarter strutting and full strutting, walking all the way up to get the panicked gobbler. I didn't see this, but I could hear, purring and fighting. I could hear the wings hitting each other, and then I saw both birds with the frantic gobbler being pushed back down the hill while the gobbler in the back was strutting the whole way.

The strutting might be a bit unusual, but scattered turkeys always call to each other to regroup. An old-school turkey hunting tactic was to use a dog to scatter turkeys, then sit still and call them back in.

That's pretty neat man. I've fall turkey hunted a lot in my life. Gobblers do sometimes fight, strut, and gobble after they fly down in the mornings. I've never seen it last more than just a few minutes though.
They do call each other to re-group after a split up. Sometimes they do it quickly. Sometimes they do it the next day. You never know.

But I have never seen them do what you described. But, I guess that's just them being turkeys. I would have liked to have seen that.

Being in the woods a lot, like most of you I've seen a bunch of different things. This was interesting and taught me a lot.
The lesson I got from it was to bust em up and gobbler yelp and cutt way more than in The spring. When you do call one back he'll finally come and be silent about it too.
I heard a gobbler fight near this area a few years ago that even kinda scared me. Two or three gobblers were hitting each other with their wing butts and making the craziest growling and whacking sounds. If I hadn't seen em I would have thought it was mules fighting and kicking each other. It was amazing at the force and sound coming from them. This was right at dark and I think they didn't go to roost until the fight was good and done.
