I need input on Browning BAR .308 synthetic version

In a couple of months I'll be buying a Browning BAR in .308. It will be the synthetic stocked version. I know absolutely nothing about these rifles. Y'all fill me in.......

Why exactly are you buying it knowing nothing about it? Not saying you shouldn't, just looking for context on why specifically a synthetic BAR 308?

The easy highlights are:
Very durable
Very reliable
Very heavy

They are nice guns but fit me like crap, almost like shouldering a 4ft 2x10

I've got a pair of BAR safari grade II. One in 25/06 and one in 243. I always heard they could be somewhat finicky about what ammo they like but both mine shoot everything pretty well. Both are a pleasure to shoot. Extremely smooth action.

Mine is the d b m model. It won't shoot any pointed bullet I've tried worth a damn.it will shoot Remington 150 grain core loc into one inch groups and I'm more than pleased.before I tried the Remington I went through 5 different brands with no luck on grouping but it loves the core loc.

I'll load for it once I find what it likes. I just want to make sure up front that I buy a great rifle that's not gonna be a pain to deal with.

I was advised on another forum to be sure to get one with a steel receiver. I guess some are alloy????

I've always thought the walnut stock models were beautiful guns. I almost bought one but decided that one accurate shot was better than 3 not so accurate shots.
