Not mentioning the calling around the house and car but man I bet i have cleaned my shot gun 20x and Everytime i walk past one of them i have to pick it up and look down the barrel then work the action 10 or 15 times.

I almost wish i could just go into a coma today and wake up a week before season hahahah.

Thankfully I'm not that obsessed with turkey hunting, although it does rank 2nd on my favorite hunting things

I would have to say it ranks #1 on my list now-a-days.... with goose/duck/predator calling in second.... nothing like having quarry come into your calls.

:D

True but for some reason I really like the week before scouting before work. It's just icing on the cake I guess

Thank goodness for em. I hunted deer hard for 20 years before I ever saw my first wild turkey. (I believe that was in 1991.) The last day of deer season was always a total downer.

On the last day of deer season this year I sent a text to my brother:

"90 days and counting!"

I sit in my recliner after my day winds down and kick on the DVR. I tune in the must recent turkey show, grab my shotgun and pretend Its april!

hahah i shared a story on here during deer season that pretty much puts where turkey hunting is for me these days. Was opening day of duck season morning and it was COLD and CLEAR a perfect day for deer hunting and right still had rut going on. I hunt by the river so all the shots were close, so everytime they shot the turkeys would gobble like crazy. I spent 2 hours not paying a BIT of attention to deer hunting and was pretty much in a day dream running scenarios through my mind as to what moves i would make on the birds gobbling and how I would hunt them. As far as I was concerned deer season was pretty much over for me that min and the countdown the turkey hunting had started.

When I get bored while deer hunting, I usually replay one of my previous turkey hunts in great detail in my mind. Or I will look at where I'm deer hunting and picture where one might be roosted from my location and what I would do to kill him. Once deer season is over i just about go crazy!

I learned this week that I have a church officers retreat on friday the 30th and Saturday the 31st, of all days. Been looking forward to the season for a while, and its a bummer that I can't be out there opening morning. However, I am retired, so I will be there on Monday, and Tuesday, and.........well you get the picture. lol
