Don't lose two games. Don't lose to Pitt. Don't get blown out by 39 to Michigan. Ohio State and Penn State tied for the East with identical 8-1 records. The tiebreaker (I.e. PSU's win over Ohio State (after being dominated all game - 172 yards total offense; 2 for 16 on third down; gifted two 4th quarter special teams brain farts, a blown PI, a called horse collar that wasn't), gave PSU the right to play for the Big Ten. There Wisconsin did a Wisconsin (what we used to call a "Clemsoning").
It was a great comeback and win for the Nittany Lions. Given what the program has been through and it's level of play the past decade or so, you should be ecstatic with a Big Ten championship and Rose Bowl not bitter. It was a great season. Don't lose two games next year.
I am very encouraged, especially with how they played the second half of the season and the fact that they are the 2nd youngest team in college football. They did lose twice but those losses came in September and were when they were without 6 defensive starters. In the Ohio State game, I understand the stats but in the end they did win. Not much different than OSU only beating by Michigan State who was 3-9 by 1 because MSU didn't kick the extra point and went for two. Penn State rolled MSU 45-12 the next week. Really though, my concern is not Ohio State. I honestly believe that you could make a legit argument for the top 4 being Alabama, OSU, Michigan and Penn State. It would certainly be arguable but not any more far fetched than putting Washington in. I don't even think the Huskies are the best team in their division let alone worthy of the playoff. Their strength of schedule is 60 and they lost to USC. I believe USC would beat them again but it seems they got in because they won their conference. I
