Indiana's wins were solid with no home overtime games or losses to weak teams so they deserved respect. They would have received even more respect if they had a win against a really good team.

Michigan played out of their heads against Ohio St since it was rivalry. I think that's something that isn't factored in when thinking about wins/losses sometimes. Well Michigan beat OSU. Yup, they did but also played about 2 tiers above the team they actually are to do it. Rankings are such an imperfect science.

100%. We see it every weekend once conference play starts. Rankings will always be imperfect. Too many variables to consider. Maybe I should develop a custom tuned/non-biased GAI model to conduct rankings. Kinda like new school BCS

Even with a 12 team format the college football playoffs sorta did what it intended to do. It keep the bottom feeders at the bottom and sorta elevated some of the elite programs to the top.

I hope they do away with this top 12 BS and get it down to top 6 after next year. 6 "IF' you are wanting to expand it feels about right if you are wanting to make a argument for expanding it. Which I am not. I am fine with making it 4 and the invite system. Put your big boy panties on and get it on. 12 just makes a mockery out of the whole expansion process and this year proved that. Everyone outside the top 6 was just pathetic.
