Insane Archery Camera Mount (Pics and Video)

The problem with bow mounted cameras is that it is VERY hard to get good shots after the string is released. THe bow often drops and a follow up of the animal running off is poor at best.

Let us know how you do.

I have tried all kinds but have found the arm on the tree or stand is the best.

Actually, ANY self video mostly just sucks. It is VERY hard to keep a live animal framed for the shot on approach and AFTER the shot, forget it. I have done this ONCE. It was wide angle and the impact was poor quality. THis year, I tried again with MUCH better video of approach but THREE times it cost me what should have been SLAM DUNK shots on deer. I finally put the camera down. In fact more than once the actual camera itself has gotten in the way.

THer is NO SUBSTITUTE for a GOOD camera-man. (or woman). I have lots of really good footage of kills and misses. And it is REALLY enjoyable doing the videoing.

102 -- You are exactly right! We found out quick that having a person there running the camera = 100% better footage. Running the camera if fun too; I have just as much fun doing that as shooting stuff myself. I practiced this year on setting the camera up myself and such on deer that I wasn't going to shoot...young bucks, etc. And to be honest with you, it is a hassle by yourself. An extra person there is the ticket. But even then you quickly figure out why most of the hunting show guys are setup on fields or big openings: cause in the thick woods, being even just a few feet away from the shooter puts a whole different perspective on who can see the deer and who has the clear shot of it.

A buddy of mine filmed me killing a doe; we were in a 2 man ladder stand literally side by side. I could see the deer the whole time and he never could from his angle...had to wait for that deer to come nearly 80 yards before he could see it with the camera. On the edge of a field or something....better light quality and both of ya can see the deer.
