I am getting new boots and I don't know what I am going to get insulated or uninsulated. These boots are for hunting during rifle season in the mountains. Pretty good walks to my stands. Just looking for best option on keeping feet warm. What works best for you?

My feet freeze on cold hunts. Insulated boots didn't seem to help.
Now, I wear something that's comfortable to walk in, and then use the Arctic Shield boot covers. If really cold, I'll toss in a couple of hot hands. It's the only thing that I could find that keeps me in the woods when cold.
Do a search on here about cold feet, and there are several options that have been discussed in the past.

for mountain hunting, get a comfortable boot with good support. Don't worry about insulation.
Open 2 hot hands when you leave the truck and put them in some boot blankets.
When you get on stand, take the boots off and your sweaty socks. Put them in a garbage bag and close up.
Put dry socks on, then the boot blankets. Dry toasty feet all day long.
When you leave, put the boots back on for the hike out.
A bit of a pita but way better than freezing feet all morning making your hunt miserable.

I haven't owned a pair of insulated boots in years. I wear uninsulated and when it's cold and feet sweat I take a couple change of socks to change out.

I wear uninsulated all year for mountain hunting. I do wear good quality merino socks that get thicker as the temp gets colder. I also have those artic shield boot blankets for when it gets really cold.
