Is this legal?

$100 will get 10,000 shipped to your door.

Or spend the $100 on gas to get to where you hunt.
Or spend the $100 on calls and learn to use them
Or send $100 on greens fees at the local golf course because if you think using crickets as bait or need bait to kill turkeys you're more suited for the golf course than the turkey woods.

Crickets.....by far the most ridiculous thing I've heard thus far this season, and to think a poster is condoning this just further defies logic.

Beautiful, do you feel like a cool guy?

Needless to say I'm not surprised....

Not really, google has been around for a couple months. I can probably find some cheaper, but those pulled up first. You want me to see where the guy I know gets his from?

3. The one thing that doesn't blow my mind is that the TV guys do it. Its not enough they have prime, low pressure farms to hunt, they have to bait to ensure an exciting episode....

Bone, I was joking :D !

BTW, I did a quick search, and this topic has been brought up on various forums going back a few years. Although, I didn't see anything where anyone actually claimed to have done it and had success.

I don't put it past them, joke or not. :D

People are always trying to get an upper hand and do something to give them the edge over everyone else. most of the things you see come out each year are gimmicks or junk IMO.

What's the big deal! I just buy a tube of crickets at the bait shop for $4.00, and run a mono "trot" line across the pasture, tie on droppers with #6 aberdeens, and run the line toward the end of the day. Much more cost effective than buying 10,000 crickets. Also very sporting trying to subdue the catch!

$100 for calls? Half of my calls are made from stuff in the woods and the other half are cheap store bought and a couple Woodhaven mouth calls. No need to spend even $50 on calls unless collecting them is a hobby... Now $100 on gas is much more realistic, even for me with a 25 mpg truck I still drive a lot of miles and hunt a lot so it adds up quick. Prob the most expensive part of hunting for me, more a year than annual sportsmans license and gear

there are several custom calls that are 100 plus. and i wish it only took 100 to fill up my truck. but i would never in s billion years spend 100 dollars on cricket just to let them loose. now im not at all against what ruger did and buy them for fishing bait and if i fished like that i probably would. but goodness just blows my mind what some people do.

The Darrin Dawkins Aluminum call that I use and believe is probably the best friction call I have ever used or run, and certainly the deadliest costs $125.00.

Also, how about buying 5 cheap-o walmart type friction calls. That will cost you $100.

To each their own on the calls, everyone needs to use what they like and have confidence in. But there is no comparison between a really good custom call and the cheap stuff, none. Sure the cheap one may sound great to you, but the rubber meets the road at hundred yards or so through the woods and how that calls tone carries and sounds at a distance.

I know some guys that would probably do this if I told them that I heard it worked.

What do crickets eat? Maybe we could just bait the crickets and have them around naturally, then that wouldn't be turkey baiting, just cricket baiting, which should be legal. LOL

Haha, I think they like raw potatoes atleast the ones used for bait do.

I know this is gonna sound crazy, but how about just plant a food plot that will attract turkeys (and crickets) in the spring? Durana clover will do the job quite nicely.

There are at least 200-300 ways to kill a turkey that are better than releasing 1000 brown cickets into a field every day for 2 weeks. A food plot is one of them.
