Items or products you don't hunt without.

A small bundle of zip ties, 4 large construction type trash bags, para cord, small roll of electrical tape, a few nails …Home Sweet Home…👍

Always a candle and a couple means of making fire and 2 small flashlights.
and water purification pills….that I've never used.(they could be dust now too) lol

I still carry 2 grunt calls,2 can calls( big & small) a diamond stone, spare knife (Sharpfinger) a couple pair of latex gloves, a spare pair of wool gloves, water bottle, snacks or food depending on the hunting situation.

I usually carry a extra wool shirt or sweater and an extra wool toboggan (hunter orange).

I also have a small first aid kit in my backpack.
Mostly for burns and cuts..

I use both, a Fanny pack & a backpack..and sometimes a haversack, depending on the situation.
It gets cold in the hollow..

All good items to have. But where do I draw the line?

I have to say my number 1 product is Evercam bar. Ever since it came out years ago I've use it with great confidence. It really works had deer 10 feet from the blind.
I always like my Winner Stealth tent from Academy. That with a moving blanket and chair. It's like I'm invisible and it helps keep my scent down. Best investment in years.

I carry many of the basic things listed but if I'm hunting alone all day the one thing I wont go without is my cell phone along with a back up battery pack...good reception in most areas I hunt. Check in with wife mid-day, check in with other buddys who are hunting other farms. Have OnX app and can check weather app as needed. Also keep notes on the days observations and keep notes on future projects as they come to mind. Then love taking pictures, sunrises, sunsets, then when I'm fortunate to kill a buck I want to capture the memory while in the field...a must have multipurpose tool for sitting all day.

Modern technology is great. Back in the day well you've heard the stories. It keeps you safe and a peace of mind.

This thread was worth it just to discover electronic hardwarmers are a thing. Had no idea. And now I've got four being delivered soon.

Don't leave home without it . It's really a lifeline . I know we down them all the time but they are a great invention . Who'd of thought years ago before cell phones you could be driving down the road or walking up a ridge you could talk to someone hundreds if not thousands of miles away ??

Couldn't agree more. I like taking pictures from the stand, especially sunrise and sunset. A couple of those have ended up as rotating background pics for my desktop PC.

And the ability to communicate by text between hunters is a Godsend. In the older days we used to all carry 2-way radios. I bet we went through more than a dozen of them, always trying to get more powerful ones. We all had earphones or even headsets with microphones and headphones. Glad those days are over. Those ear-bud style earphones got painful after a couple hours. Plus, not having to remember to charge your radio between hunts.

They are the bomb Trapper. Just make sure to get some that have a battery rated at 10,000Mah or more. With that kind of charge, they will last all day. And be careful with the highest settings. They can get HOT!

And the cool thing is, they will also recharge your phone or other electronic device. You can charge to them and from them.
Which brands can you depend on to work. Some cheap ones from Walmart failed the first time used.
