Just average

Bama had one of the most talented rosters on paper, probably top 5 in the country. So most expected Deboer to win a good amount 9-10 games year 1, no shock. We will see what he does in the next couple of years. it's clear this is not the same era of football Bama dominated for the last 20 years, and Deboar is no Saban. Will Bama make it in many 12-16 team playoff fields in the future and compete for chips sure. Will they dominant college football for 15 Years like the did under Saban? I don't think so.

I've grown to like DeBour over the season, so I do feel bad for him that this will be his best season at Alabama. Nor am I an Alabama hater, so I may just start pulling for them next year since the glory days will be over for awhile.
If only some of their fans…maybe I shouldn't be so harsh.

Go Boilers! They still have a chance at two wins this year!!!!

Most Bama fans know DeBoer isn't Saban and don't expect him to be. Saban is one of the greatest or maybe the greatest to ever do it. It was a great time to be an Alabama fan.
Thats why all opposing fan bases are excited he's gone.
Now is a new era for Alabama football and Alabama fans know it. I like DeBoer. I'm not sure if he'll make it or not. I hope he does.
To say he will or won't make it is just a guess.
I think he is capable of winning Championships at Alabama but it's also possible he doesn't win anything.

There won't be another era of football like Alabama had with Saban. For anybody. The landscape of college football has changed.
And to be clear, it was all Saban. He would have had the same run if he had been at Tennessee. Or Georgia. Or Florida. Texas. USC. Not kentucky.

Agree, and that is why he decided to go when he did. The NIL leveled the playing field and Nicky knew that he wasn't on top anymore.

I don't think that was it; he is a competitive person by nature. Saban mentioned the frustration with players asking about NIL money and playing time as soon as the season ended. He was at the age to retire and he did not want to deal with the player attitudes that are coming from the NIL and transfer portal system. He was for something like NIL but his vision of players getting NIL and what was actually taking place were two different things.
