This year for some reason I'm not that excited about bow season.
Im ready to hunt but it seems like I'm burning out, even though I have decent success. Hopefully I'll kill saturday and put me back in the game.

Am I crazy?

Anybody else feel like I do?

I'd say maybe some time away from it might do you some good. Personally, I find it hard to get excited about September openers. Too much like summer to feel like deer season.

I don't get as excited at the start of the season. Part of it is self preservation b/c I know I can't hunt a lot with three little kids and a wife who come first. Part of it is the hot/humid weather. I try to keep the desire to a minimum so I don't burn all my kitchen passes early. The first clear morning that the temp drops down to ~50 will kick it into high gear :D

I plan to get out for a few hours each weekend until halloween. From then until Thanksgiving I'll be in the woods as much as possible.

It helps that peewee soccer ends at halloween so I won't have two games to attend every Saturday morning. ;)

No,I feel the same way. After all summer of scouting, feeding and planting,I feel burned out.I have more land to hunt in Mcminn, Meigs, and bradley countys, about 9,000 acres, plus 20,000 acres of farms and hardwoods in rhea and perry,Than I ever have had,, I just dont even have the urge to hunt as of now..Could be the hot weather, or just too tired..

Bow season gets me fired up more than anything.
I guess the last year or two I have been pushing myself too hard.

I can basically hunt whenever I choose. Thats what I have been doing. School, sleep, hunt. I'll drive straight from school or wher ever and just go hunt.

I have only been in the woods this year twice. I have 100% chance of killing a deer and im still indifferent.

I just started duck hunting this past early woodie season and im fired up ready for dec. 5. That probably has alot to do with it.

im ready to go never can sleep the night before. But that morning ur pumped and when i see the first deer of the season im set for the rest of the year.

I'm pumped since it is my first season bowhunting, but I need to take breaks from golf. I have been playing it since I could walk and spent many years practicing everyday till I hit a wall when my son was born. I took a year and a half off and it made all the difference. I got back into competition this year, but will take a break during hunting season. I know how you fell, just a different sport.

I dont never get to where I drvie my self crazy....I mena I wouldn't miss it for anything but itf it were to come a turd floater rain I would prolly sit right here at the house!

no I don't feel like you do. and yes you are crazy.

LOL get out there and hunt you'll remember why you love it

Yes I am finding myself less excited about the opening of bow season every year. A 16 month old baby at home, a wife who works twelve hour shifts, I cant keep the yard mowed for all the raining and just the normal everyday grind. Ill be escited on towards the end of October though.
