Pretty sure I know the answer, but is an adult allowed to have a rifle with them during the juvenile hunt while they are accompanying the hunter? I ask because I have carried a suppressed AR while hunting with my son this year in case a coyote presents itself. I assume that I can't during the juvenile hunt.

pretty sure that (the rifle) would be a violation. not sure about the legality of your carrying a concealed firearm though. i think that is legal even if it is not a legal weapon for the game in question. IE-during archery season. gray area until we get an official answer.

If you had a rifle in your hands your are hunting. You can carry a pistol but you are not allowed to hunt on the youth hunt, any shooting has to be done by the youngster.

Under prohibited acts:

l. Centerfire or muzzleloading rifles possessed by an individual 17 years of age or older for the purpose of hunting furbearers during the young sportsman deer and bear hunts.

I think you could use a rim fire rifle or a shotgun with 4 shot or larger, but I would call the region office to verify that, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for this. We will just let him shoot one if it comes out. That section you shared answered it clearly.
