Juvenile hunt this weekend

Who else is getting excited about taking the kids hunting this weekend? I'm hopeful the current weather forecast changes before Saturday (70% rain).

Taking my 6 year old son for his first deer hunt. He's shooting an Encore .25-06. It's the same one that my daughter and several other kids have taken deer with. Going to be in a blind and probably hunting some fields. He's really excited and says the he's going to drop one like he did his turkey in the Spring. Lord above, I pray he does! Actually we're at the hospital, hoping for no 8 to make his appearance. He'll likely have to wait for Jan 14-15.

I just pray that "Juvenile" hunt means JUVENILE. Unfortunately, there will be several "juveniles" with full beards and F250's

I'll be carrying my youngest son who is 10. He killed a doe last year, but he is chomping at the bit to kill a buck. The ole 30-30 will bark if one gets close enough for a shot!

Good luck to all the kiddos! IMO this is one of the best weekends for deer hunting. Sure wish KY would swap theirs to this weekend or the next weekend. 2nd weekend of Oct is just way too early.

You may see it, but the wives and girlfriends blab all about it at work on Monday. Pretty darned common.

My son could have his pick of about 6 or 7 mature bucks hammering cut corn right now. Asked if he was excited to go. He said he wants to go fishing. We gave been wearing out the smallmouth and black perch on the river. So floating we will go. Fine by me…..i get to fish too!
