Juvenile hunters!

It started out a good morning had three birds gobbling on roost. Two came in behind us and went to our right. He got on one at 30 yards and flat out missed. We went to another farm and seen 3 toms with a herd of hens but they would not come off their ladies. Then we went on the other side of the farm and seen a Tom with 9 hens. The neighboring property sounded like they were having a war over there. I bet they shot a couple thousand rounds of ammo and some tannerite that just about give me a heart attack when it went off. That group of birds was nervous they came in but he couldn't get on the gobbler. But we did find a dead head!

My hunter got it done early this morning. We were done by 7:15. Called in 3 two year olds and he killed the strutter. 8 1/4 inch beard and a 4 inch beard. 7/8 inch spurs. Two years in a row for us. This is his last year to be eligible for the hunt. Good times.
Great bird, Congrats!

Have punched out this wknds events 5 times but for whatever reason when I hit submit, it just takes me back to the reply page and all is blank. Anyways...... Took my stepson hunting for the first time this weekend, it was amazing! Birds gobbled good and came in both mornings. He shot a nice bird yesterday morning at about 9yds, spitting, drumming, and gobbling. It was great.
8:10am
9.5" beard
3/4" spur....only had one though.
This morning was a repeat with a lone bird gobbling about 30 times before walking in to 25yds.
8:25am
8.5" beard
1 1/4" spurs
Both birds were in the 18-20lb range.
He's 12 and never been hunting before, he loved it! I don't think he'll like Catoosa though. Lol
