My daughter recently got a vibe yellowfin 100 and it is an impressive little boat. Very stable and includes more accessories as standard than most, like a paddle and 4 rodholders.

I really like the Ascend 10footer. I don't have one..But think cost wise its pretty good bang for the buck.
I've been fishing out of it quite a bit lately. Each time I take it out I can't beileve how much I like it! I got some grief from the high end guys, bit I just remind them they have 2k+ in there's and mine still catches plenty of fish!

My new and my first ever kayak, a Perception Pescador 10. I kinda dig it! I'm not gonna win any races, but it gets me on the water where the fish are.

Took it out to Poplar Lake at Shelby Forest on Sunday--where the pic was taken. In addition to the heat advisory and extreme heat warning that was in effect, the water felt like bathwater. Gonna wait til this heat wave subsides before I take it out again. I will probably hit up some of the local lakes (Edmund Orgill, Glen Springs, Shelby Forest, Fort Pillow, etc.) during the next month or so. Basically anything that has an access point where I can put the kayak in the water.

All you guys with fishing Kayaks please do us all a favorite and do not be an idiot in them.... YOU know, like the idiot a few weeks ago below Melton Hill Dam that got pulled up against the dam and a rescue boat had to come save his stupid butt.... I was down there again several times last week and yet another one was trying to fish under the dam... little does he realize that water is swirling when they are dumping from one side and will pull you back to the dam on the other side.

True! :D Same for the Spring River. I dunno if I'd take a kayak on the White if they are generating, but that's just me.

The first kayak I bought was because of generation on the White River. Our church used to have a 4-5 day fathers and sons trip every year at Bull Shoals-White River State Park. First year we had it, 3 generators ran pretty much the whole time. If it hadn't been for good samaritans on the river with kayaks, we wouldn't have had enough fish to feed our group. Bought one within a week of getting home. Next year and every year after I took one with me, waded when it was low and pulled out the kayak when it was generating. Paddle straight across to the bend there in the river and anchor in the eddies or get out and fish the bank from the other side of the river. Pretty easy to paddle up river on the side opposite the park. Drift and drag a chain coming back down, wear them out the whole time. When ready to cross back over and several generators are running, paddle up 50-100 yards, angle the nose into the current 10-15 degrees and get to paddling. I've gotten comfortable enough now on my 12 ft sit-on that I can anchor and stand up on it to fish when water is low. It's 100 percent awesome fishing the White from a boat. Dang, now I want to go.

Funny enough, I went to Bull Shoals State Park with my dad's fishing group in November, and I fished a total of maybe an hour the entire 3 day weekend. They were generating the rest of the time, which makes wade fishing a little difficult. It never fails, they generate a lot in the fall when we go there. Thus...my dad is scouting for other locations to go that aren't affected by dam generation.

Regardless of where we go this year, I am taking the kayak for something different.

One of my friends left today at lunch headed to the White.
He is coming home Sunday afternoon.
All I had to do was get in the truck.
Just couldn't handle it this weekend. :(

Don't blame you. It's TOO hot to do anything fun. I didn't even want to take my kayak out after work.
Next week will be a different story with it only being in the 80s.
