Keep it classy tOSU

And The Game is this coming Saturday.

I don't blame Elliott. He will learn to not answer questions right after an emotional loss (or victory as the case may be). "Zeke, are you disappointed only touching the ball 11 times?" (Actually 12, and only 2 in the second half. 8 times on the lone TD drive of any length and the coaches never went back to it again.). When the reporter asked that question, well you must be a better man than most Spur.

The game plan was woeful. Completely out planned, out coached, out played. 132 yards total offense. Dantonio playing his backups but one was very mobile and mobile QBs gave OSU fits this season. Sparty's weakness on D was the secondary but OSU never challenged them and let them stack the box. Barrett had two choices in the passing game - lateral or 5 yards to the tight end. Missed Braxton by a fingertip early and, again, never went back to him.

It just never felt right this year. Hopefully they can salvage this season, but I have a very bad feeling about the Michigan game.

I would be a good enough man to keep dirty laundry in house. You win as a team and you lose as a team. If this were anyone but osu you would admit that, but we all find ways to excuse our teams. It's understandable in most cases. Bandwagon Nation even finds ways to excuse everything that happens with the Updykes as long as they win, which is inexcusable.

Yes I know. I feel the same as Elliott but I'm a fan. Jones needs to forget his Twitter. It's a long shot but if Penn St beats MSU and OSU beats Michigan then they're playing for the Rose Bowl. Doubtful but possible.

Well played by Dantonio. Love that guy. Playing the mobile qb when OSU planned for Cook. I bet he gambled that Meyer wouldnt put in Jones and he won. Never believed I'd say it but I think Meyer should have started Jones in the second half to stretch the field.

I hope MSU gets in and plays Updyke nation.

Need to keep mouth shut, you don't call out coaches and players in public. He should be punished, but urban doesn't have the backbone. That's why team is full of thugs just like at fla

Gonna be fun. The Updykes are playing well but they aren't unbeatable. Hopefully somebody will knock them off. Of course they'll claim the national championship anyway. How many will this make that they claim? 47?

There may not even be a Big10 team in the Playoff. Michigan St. isn't much better than OH State...the score reflects that, so does their strength of schedule, Strength of record and game control:

Iowa is interesting, but also benefits significantly from playing a very weak schedule...even weaker than MSU and OH State.
However if that matchup did happen, it would be a bloodbath.

I think I remember a few folks no a lot of folks saying the same thing last year about the Big 10 and how did that workout? From what I've seen teams are can be heroes or zeros depeding on how things happen during a game. Good thing they don't play games on paper anymore like they use to.

Let's see how the bowl games play out. I'm an independent 3rd party observer who doesn't like the SEC or the Big Ten+4, and right now I don't think anyone in the SEC except Bammer fans can confidently smack talk Michigan State, Michigan or Ohio State.

I think ND needs the SEC champ to have two losses or the Big Ten champ to have two losses to make it into the playoff. Obviously they have to beat Stanford this weekend too.

You are the stats meister. Problem is, you probably used the same argument before last year's Sugar Bowl and the Sugar Bowl before that. You should read "Money Ball" or re-read it if you have.

SEC has one very good team and the rest of the conf is just not as good as SEC fan groupthink demands everyone to think. Look at Florida. Who have they played? Should have lost to FAU. Should have lost to Vandy which did lose to WKU. Toledo. The Citadel. That is your East champ. LSU is not for real and never was. Same for all the rest.

I don't think any knowledgeable fans are saying the SEC is great. The east sucks top to bottom and other than the Updykes (who lost to ole miss) the west is not very good.

Bingo.

So called SoS has nothing to do with it. OSU didn't lose because they hadn't been tested in a supposed mean and nasty SEC football schedule. It's who is best - coached, schemed, and played - for that one game is what matters. That a team played teams (ranked by journalists for most of the season and most ranked teams (Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M anyone) are no longer ranked and their seasons have shown they never should have been, yet Alabama gets a feather in their cap because they played a bunch of overrated teams who happened to be inaccurately ranked (or ranked much higher) when they played them.

Funny thing is, SEC fans never bring up SoS when it's basketball season.

I don't think more than one SEC team will make it in. The SEC obviously isn't as good today as it was between 2008 and ~2013 but they are still the strongest candidate for the best conference. I don't think FL is that good. Alabama will destroy them.

Our playoff will be:
Alabama or Clemson in the #1 spot.
Alabama or Clemson in the #2 spot.
The winner of the Big 10 (Either Michigan State or Iowa) in the 3rd spot.
The winner of the OK/OK State this weekend or Baylor in the 4th spot.

No sense on the committee even meeting anymore...you can send this post to them as their meeting minutes. :)

I don't follow basketball.

The football selection committee has made it clear that SOS highly influences their selections for the playoff...and their selection is not based on the polls put out by the journalists.

4 most important criteria:
Championships won
Strength of schedule
Head-to-head competition (if it occurred)
Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)

Don't know why I keep torturing myself, but Urban is 48-4 as OSU head coach. He's 2-2 vs Dantonio. In all 4 meetings, the favorite has lost.

Would be sweet justice if Saban loses to the school who gave him his first big school chance. Alabama or whoever will underestimate Dantonio at their own peril.
