I keep thinking back to the first time I went to my hunting spot to scout, and opening weekend, and the whole season as it progressed. I need to get over it.... there's always next year. But the season went by so fast, like I thought it would. I expected it, but it still hit me.

Well I'll be curing that (hopefully) on saturday when I go to the same spot with a buddy to pop squirrels. But I keep thinking back and wish I could be sitting on the field edge listening to gobbles again. Even with fishing a few times a week, and squirrel hunting to look forward to, among other things, there is definitely something different about turkey hunting and you all know what I mean. I guess it means only one thing.... 100% hooked for life

the only thing that makes me sad about it is no more turkeys are gonna die!!! other than natural mortality of course.

They'll be gobbling their heads off in the morning :D !

I plan to move some trail cams, and am thinking about taking my mouth calls just in case!

I know what you mean man im lost in boredom right now.. but apparently my company is going to take care of that with 12 hour shifts and saturdays to. this sucks. And Im gettin a new kayak tommorrow so all the black perch and smallmouth better watch there self.

He said the only thing that makes him sad is that NO MORE turkeys are going to die. Hating would be happy that no more are going to die. lol

I want to see six behind every tree. I love to deer hunt but theres nothing like a spring morning with 5 or 6 gobblers hammering within a hundred yards of ya.

Took up my popups this week, stored and cleaned my dekes, and did some serious grass cutting yesterday that I have ignored during the season. While fall is not the same as spring, I'm thinking a crossbow gobbler this fall, and since I don't own a crossbow yet, will give me another hunting deal to ponder twixt now and then. lol

Rock, you are kind of new so I will explain: Some deer hunters have trouble killing deer, so they blame their shortfalls on turkeys. They want them eradicated. Extinct even. Hunters, disease, whatever. As long as they are dead. I want to see a turkey behind every tree. That's the difference.

i don't have any trouble killing deer and i actually enjoyed a couple of turkey hunts this year.

Been wanting to catch some hogs, but I'm afraid I'm going to hear turkeys gobbling and that would drive me crazy.

Just be glad you don't live in a state like Arkansas with a 2 week season. How bad would that suck?

I had a depressing 5 years for turkeys while I lived in Central Arkansas but it made the 5 hour drive to my spot in Tennessee better! I shot 15 birds in Tennessee while I lived in Arkansas and never shot a single bird in Arkansas. It wasn't that they are tough birds it was that there wasn't many of them in most places, the woods are thick and the dang season is two weeks!
