Most of the Country (including TNdeer) and the media were rooting for the Tide to be left out. Just like most of the Country has is rooting for the Alabama football program to collapse for over a decade now. ...but like I keep trying to tell yall, "Alabama is going to be just fine".

Folks rooting for it and folks making money on them being included are two very different things :)

I don't give a rats ass if bama makes it or not but do so on merit. Putting them in because of history, money, or anything else besides on field accomplishment is asinine at best. That goes for anybody not just bama. Maybe if some bama fans would take those crimson colored glasses off they'd agree.

Earn it then, just like 11-1 bama knocked out the Fl St 12-0 last year and now bama taking out Miami with better record? Bama got whooped by a team with 1 sec win wth
 
I might be biased but I try not to be. I don't think Alabama has a great team this year. I think they have played great at times but they also played awful at times.
The only team I think has an argument to be over Alabama is Ole Miss. I think they're the ones getting screwed. I think Alabama is a better team than Miami and I think Alabama should be ahead of them. I don't think USCe should jump Alabama and Ole Miss because they beat Clemson by 3 points. Alabama and Ole Miss both won their games and have wins over USCe. I get it USCe is a hot team but it's a ranking throughout the season or that's how it should be. I don't think Indiana should be ranked where they are and I don't think Penn St should be either. All wins and all loses are not equal.
I think Sankey was doing his job as commissioner of the SEC.

According to the selection committee, they (along with all of the other selections) are in the playoff based on merit. I never heard or read anything about from the committee saying history, money, or anything else was a factor in their decision.

Its already ruined. The fun was put on a glide path to bs with the bcs system, now its crashed. It'll never be like it was with the poll national champion days, that created endless yearlong controversy that kept college football on everybody's mind and debating without end. That's what made it unique and different from every other sport.

This is 100% about money, and it's a flipping joke. If Alabama had lost a close game to OU, or if it was early in the season, then I could understand it. OU is a sorry team with 1200 fewer yards and 130 fewer points this season, and they made Alabama look foolish. Alabama scored 3 freaking points. That was the 11th game of the season. Not week 1. Not week 2.

Alabama fans point out that non-SEC teams haven't played anyone tough and don't have signature wins. Well, they also didn't get clobbered by teams as bad as OU. They won when they were supposed to.
