These last few days of archery season are by far the best. Amazing how much the woods change from opening weekend in late September to early November.

That's one of the things I love most about archery season. You get to hunt at least 3 different phases of the whitetail world!!! Good luck brother

I'm out in it and seeing deer. Had a doe and fawn come through and a young buck. I could smell the buck plain as day. I love it when archery goes later like this. I did have to swat a skeeter off.

This is the first bow season in 4 decades that I've not hunted once! Too busy, no. Physically unable, no. No place to hunt, no.
Just unmotivated to kill a sick doe I can't eat! The mature bucks are just starting to cruise but still at night. It's been unusually warm here too which doesn't help. But it's going to get good soon. I do miss the fall.

I took half the week off to hunt this week. I had lots of movement on Saturday, bucks running scrapes, chasing does, and searching. It went completely dead Tuesday. No movement and no movement on cameras at all between 3 farms in 2 different counties, not even at night. I probably won't hunt this weekend and will spend it with the kids unless my nephew wants me to take him. I've been thinking since mid October it would be a late rut. It's starting to look that way. I'll start hitting it hard again when my cameras start seeing any kind of movement.
