Shot this buck in Lincoln with my bow on Oct 2. Did not get to go to the farm and do any preseason planning because my dad was sick. He passed away on August 29th. I headed to hunt the last weekend in September into Oct and the last cell cam pic at a particular stand was me and him scouting last January after season ended. I sat at that spot and got this buck. A very blessed and memorable hunt for sure.

Nice, that would be a worrisome area for a passthrough though, arrow or bullet, did it mess up the arrow?

The deer literally walked under my stand through some privit and was quartering away. I was so tore up when I shot him that I hit way high. The arrow penetrated good and only the fletching were exposed when I found him. The arrow was ruined though because he fell on it. It was neat to see him running with a lumenok in him though. He ran about 20-30 yards and piled up.

Well worth the loss of an arrow I'd guess. Congrats.

Great buck and an awesome memory! My heart goes out to you after the loss of your father. My father passed on Veterans Day and then I shot my best buck a week later in Illinois. It was hard just going hunting again and especially not being able to share the adventure of the hunt with him.

Sorry to hear about your dad. That's a really special memory to have. Great story, great deer. Congratulations brother.
