with the season coming to an end we are making one last trip to the lease in Western KY. Its bow season there and i dont have a buck tag left so I think I will bring the long bow with me and try to bag another doe. Never had killed a deer with my long bow. Anyone else still using a bow?

I too am bucked out in Ky but want to make one more trip to hunt and scout new farm. But want get up early,to cold.Maybe middle of next week.

Yep bow hunt only year around. You want see me n the woods with a gun its to easy. Not bashing gun hunters its just not for me.

Yeah i prefer the bow myself,What i really like is right now i'm the only deer hunter within miles.None of locals bow hunt.I hunt in Christian county and last week walked into country store with all my camo and everyone asked if deer season was still open.I too am unemployed for second straight deer season.Maybe this spring construction will pick up.

Good luck!

Will be heading to LBL on Mon hoping for some late season action!

Thats one of the things I love about hunting in KY. No body hunts up there except for a few weeks when gun season is open. Its paradise for bow hunters. we have a group of guys that lease land beside us and all they do is gun hunt. they told us we were more than welcome to hunt there land while they werent there. All they asked was to be able to turkey hunt on our lease. heck of a trade if you ask me.

Its amazing to hunt west Kentucky now.All the Georgia and Florida boys have gone home and the locals don't know what a bow is.Ride around in mid day and see bunches of deer feeding in the fields.Good time to scout for next year and who knows maybe a doe may come my way.

Have no idea what it was for me. i just moved the sights and shot about 2 dozen more times to make sure it was grouping good. Ive had that happen before in late season except instead of being on the range it was at a nice late season buck. wont make that mistake again.

I am at the LBL right now and have seen several does hoping this snow stops soon so we can head back out!
