Where I was this past weekend they were gobbling but staying on the ridges. Had a buddy that did not hear a thing.

Just got home from up there and I will have to say I was a little disappointed. This makes about the 5th time I have hunted the first quota hunt and I had the least action this trip. Yesterday it think there were 18 birds checked in. Maybe this weekend they will do more, good luck. I do love to hunt up there, make sure you take a compass or GPS
Piney is a nice place. Stayed there a couple of times in the cabins.Big Gun said:

Aaron and I had a great time when we took our trip a couple of years ago..... came close a couple of times. Just take plenty of tick spray!!!

Tip for LBL's second quota hunt. Figure out what Tickweeds driving and follow him. If I had to bet my next paycheck on somebody killing a bird up there thats who I would bet on.

Wow, thanks for the compliment Stretch. Wish I was as sure as you are. I'll be trying for sure, leaving tomorrow at dinner, staying with some friends at one of the inns cabins. Stretch, you drawn? hope to maybe meet some tn deer members this weekend. Good luck to all!

Me and Ruger will be there Sunday at Piney for the first non quota week. I have found the non-quotas are actually less crowded than the quota hunts. we are planning on staying til saturday and i have the next week scheduled off too if thats what it takes. let me know what they are doing this weekend. Several Tndeer members that i know will be there this weekend. pretty good bunch of folks.

Bingo! Took me untill 2:35pm to finally get him, but closed the deal Sat. at LBL. Really bad weather made it tough. Saw several adults, heard quite a bite of gobblin, not many taken the first day of the second quota hunt.
