Gatorade does not cause cramps. Do you really think that multi-billion-dollar football teams would be feeding their players a cramp-inducing liquid simply for a few endorsement dollars? The full sugar Gatorade should be left to when you are actually participating in a sport (actively running/working). Afterwards, switch to Gatorade Zero (no sugar) or one of the other non-sugar electrolyte replacement drinks.Leave the Gatorade alone! I went through this last winter. Was walking out of the woods and my right leg cramped up. While trying to work that cramp out, my left leg cramped up. I was laying on the ground crying like a baby. Talked to @biglefty20 (coach) and asked him about it. He advised against the Gatorade. Water only for me while hunting now. Something about the sugar in Gatorade causes cramps which is just opposite of what I always thought.
Dude... You THINK you know everything don't ya? Absolutely, Gatorade or any other high sugar drinks can cause cramps. Since I have cut back on sugar intake, the cramps have stopped. So, from my personal experience, Gatorade caused the cramps being as that WAS my drink of choice when I was in deer stand.Gatorade does not cause cramps. Don't drink Gatorade it has too much sugar in it. I race offroad in XC racing, we all drink pedialyte the day before leading up to the race and at least a bottle the day of the race. There is no telling how many squats we do in 1 lap, and there is nothing worse that turning into Lieutenant Dan going into the last lap on a rough XC course.
I put GU Energy Octane in my camelback during the race but I don't think I would want to drink that before deer hunting. It has lots of caffeine in it and I'd be jumping up and down in my stand after a while.
Talk about barfing. There is no way I could drink one of those before or after a race. The guys that are sponsored and get handed a can on the podium it's usually a decoy can with water in it, lol.Dang I thought ya'll only had Monster Energies running through your veins..
Also can't believe I am just learning about powdered electrolyte supplements...
If you are on a statin it could be from that…just throwing it out there.
