Let's see pictures of the bucks you have on your personal "hit list."

Although these aren't the only bucks I would kill (I'll take anything 3 1/2+), these are the hit list bucks I would like to kill:

The 3 1/2s:

The 4 1/2s:

The 6 1/2:

The buck in the center is on the hit list. He's 4.5 or possibly 5.5... The one on the left is off limits... he's only 2.5 or 3.5 and has a TON of potential if he can make it through the season.

On another farm, this is the only mature buck we've photographed... but we don't even have cameras on another 400 acres of this farm. There should be another 2 or 3 mature bucks on this farm that were 3.5 last year and not killed that I'm aware of:

We've got another buck that should be 4.5 and in the 140's, but haven't run cameras where's he's been hanging out due to cattle.

Nowhere near the caliber of some on here, but these guys are better than anything we've had/seen on this particular private property to date...

bsk, that 6.5 year old is a toad with awesome browtines!! that 1st 4.5 yr old buck looks great too! You should have atleast one of them down very soon, unless all the bowhunters mess things up for you when they are out doing all their scouting :)

Mega,

I get why you're protecting that buck on the left in the top picture. Wow what potential! The mature buck in the middle is awesome.

The buck on the left is incredibly similar to this 3.5 y/o buck from last year. But the buck last year had split g2's on both sides. We passed him up a few times, the neighbors were on board to pass him up as well, but when he finally stepped out in front of them in mid Dec, they changed their mind. I think he scored in the low 130's, but would have been at least a solid mid to upper 150's buck this year had he made it.

Hopefully this year's buck will make it, but I'm doubtful. I really do think he might touch 160" next year if he lives.

We're in a lull for older bucks on this farm due to the drought/ absent rut/ no fawn recruitment from 3 or 4 years ago. I knew it was coming back then. We should bounce back next year, though, as we've got a ton of 2.5 y/o's.

All these are on my list. But the first pic is definatley gonna be in trouble if I can get a crack at him. Im thinking he is 4.5 yo.

Interesting that you mention "missing" age-classes of bucks due to past poor fawn recruitment. I too have a "missing" age-class, the 2 1/2 year-olds this year. We were low on 1 1/2 year-olds last year and had very poor fawn recruitement in '09. Normally 2 1/2 year-old bucks make up 25-30% of unique bucks, but this year it is only around 15%.

Bsk that 6.5s browtines: WOW!!!!

Yeah, impressive, aren't they!? Tall browtrines are very rare in my area, and those tines are one way we've been able to track that buck over the years, although they didn't really grow to such impressive length until he hit 5 1/2.
