Lincoln County Near Belleville Area

I guess saying Alabama has no deer is a little bit of a stretch from me but it's not too far off.

Living in North Alabama when I was in high school/early colllege (late 90s) I was in a club in Marshall County where it was routine to see 10-20 deer per sit. Granted there were a lot of does but at least it was action.

Fast forward to now we hunt that same general area and seeing more than a deer or two per sit is considered a good hunt. And these are areas w minimal hunting pressure as far as over harvest of does. The general consensus around here is the coyote population has exploded and decreased fawn recruitment. It gets really old really quick not seeing deer.
When we first moved here (SW Lincoln county), we used to see herds of deer 15-20, sometimes more. Now I see no more than 5-6 at a time.

Also, tons of turkeys. Until about a month ago, I haven't seen a turkey on my property for over 3 years. :(
