Lithium batteries

I'm amazed. I went to replace the lithium batteries in all my AA-using trail-cams, but most of the cams show full charge with the batteries they ran on for 6 months LAST year. Those lithium AAs are the cat's meow!

Will you guys please shut up about stupid batteries? We have a perfectly good fluffy kittens thread going on and all you can talk about is batteries.

Seriously?

Mine lasted about about 1 1/2 years staying at 99%, then went down hill within the next couple months pretty quick. But I also have a scout guard that can't differentiate between battery types. I quickly learned to never put lithiums in that thing again.

Yup, when lithiums finally die, they die really fast. But they stay at near full power for a long, long time.

Lithiums are great. But I'm a little surprised you would want to check them weekly.

I've always checked my cams weekly. However, over the years I have learned a thing or two about keeping my scent near the camera to a minimum. That makes a HUGE difference in individual deer repeat visits to that location.

Lithiums will hold their charge while sitting in a cabinet....on the other hand Alkaline will run dead just sitting in a cabinet.
And even the slow discharge rechargeables will go down

You just have to watch the lithiums, out of the pack they are almost 2 volts, while an alkaline is 1.62...I guess what I am trying to say is some of you need to see if your cam is compatible with lithiums, check on it... do not just run down and get some lithiums. And fry your cam.

Good point. My cams aren't even designed for alkaline. Lithium or rechargeable are the only options, and the internal menu makes you choose which you are running so the camera can adjust power usage.
