The "rechargeable lithiums" are just lithium-ion, the same type of battery that's in your cell phone. They have their pluses and minuses. Minuses include very high initial cost plus need for a recharger. They also don't indicate they're going dead until they suddenly go dead. The plus is the ability to be recharged over and over. I guarantee the cost-benefit HIGHLY favors the lithium-ion in the long run, however I haven't seen actual performance comparison tests yet.
