are a hatching. if you are having trouble finding bluegill check around cypress tree roots, willows, etc. throw something black ie 1/32 or 1/64 feather lite jig in black, black knat etc. you might catch a mess. :tu:
 
Last week I was throwing a little black and brown fly that scn tied for me.
Set the strike indicator about 6" above the fly and chunk that sucker up under some low hanging limbs and it would never stop when it hit the water. LOL

Sounds like a blast. Do you tie?

Just getting started and not very good at all though. LOL

Gonna get some lessons soon though.

Getting me a bench set up to tie on in the shop now.
