Any horse/mile loggers in your area? They'd be more likely to take a small job and their equipment cost are much lower than the big outfits.
I love mule loggers. They generally do such a clean job.Any horse/mile loggers in your area? They'd be more likely to take a small job and their equipment cost are much lower than the big outfits.
If it'll make quality lumber find someone with a bandmill and you can maybe work out a deal.Other ideas ??
The only one I knew with mules has stopped. The guy I use for small jobs is just a one man crew. Log truck, skid steer, skidder and himself.I like that mule logging idea. Anyone know someone that does it in Scott/Morgan/Fentress County.
Does he do work in Morgan County? The only one I knew with mules has stopped. The guy I use for small jobs is just a one man crew. Log truck, skid steer, skidder and himself.
348Winchester,What is our split with him?
I'll ask him today but I doubt it. Too much travel cuts into profits and he's nearly retired anyway. He may know someone over that way. The split is determined on the quality of timber and ease of getting it out. It would be either 60/40, 50/50, or 40/60 depending on the quality of timber, how easy it is to get out, road building needed, etc. I'm getting 60 on this current cut but it's extremely easy to get out and high quality. He hasn't had to drag anything more than 150 yards, paved road right there by the loading area, no rock needed, etc.Does he do work in Morgan County?

I have two areas on Brewstertown Rd both have easy access. The smaller of the two is very flat.I'll ask him today but I doubt it. Too much travel cuts into profits and he's nearly retired anyway.
