Our experience has been positive. Turkeys continued to use the property and nesting habitat was improved. Then we converted two log loading decks to food plots so the turkeys love bugging in those areas.....only challenge was that we did have to adjust how we hunted certain parts of the farm due to the thick undergrowth.....but overall our timber harvest has been positive for turkey and deer.
Last time we logged (select cut) was back in 1993. Turkey population then exploded after that, reaching a peak around 2004, with a slow steady decline since then.
