Long story short. I live in Knoxville, hunt a private family farm 2.5 hours west. I'm done for this year. Took a buck to Mossey Grove processing on a recommendation. Picking it up this morning saw a sign for Lone Mountain State Forest. Anybody hunt there? Ends up being 35-40min from the house so I'm looking ahead to next year for some in between days to possibly take a doe. Thanks in advance for any insights. Good luck today.

I dont live to far from lone mountain just right up the road, but come to think about it I don't think I've ever heard of anyone hunting it.

I live close it's hunted pretty hard but you can hunt there, also check out the crooked fork area it's in the same area . Look in the reg book it's part of catoosa wma all areas you will have to walk in no driving allowed on these areas. Pm me for more info if you'd like

Never knew Lone mountain was hauntable? Use to take my jeep up there when I had it. Honestly don't think it would be worth hunting with all the traffic it would be like hunting royal Blue. Ate up with Razors flying around that's why I ended up stop taking my jeep there when I use to have it would about get ran over by drunk idiots.

Lone mountain is not great for hunting it's ok early seasons. It's 5 mins from my house. I got a doe and a buck this year both there, but I earned them. I have had a bear come up to my blind have pics on trail cam also coyotes are horrible from people throwing out carcasses everywhere and the people, other hunters, and hikers not wearing orange as well as all the dogs running around it's truly an accomplishment to get some meat in freezer. My daughter shot a 4pt. Her first deer it ran close to road and fell the man hunting across rod from us said it fell was trying to get up but was done 2 guys in white SUV flew up shot out of window jumped out threw it on rack on back and sped off. Has happened to multiple people this season. Now if you get far enough back into the mountain it's good hunting but my kid was a little to young for that hike yet. Maybe next year. I have a plot of family land 75 acres that has very small amount of sign that's where we are going next season.
