I shot my gun today with the 3.5" longbeard 5's and at 25yds had a very consistent pattern density in an area just smaller than a basketball. I shot a Mossberg 835 with a .690 jellyhead.

This is where a double barrel shines by having the choice. Last year was my first season with a double and both kills were with my 'close' barrel... and that is a light modified choke with 1 ounce of 7.5 Golden Pheasant load.

The other barrel is Hevi shot with an extra full choke. This is a 20 gauge so never tried Longbeards.

My very first turkey (not with this set up), the head was just hanging by a thread. Kind of freaked me out.
I've had several since then.

At 20yds, a dove load gonna be pretty tight. I sight my red dot scope in at 10 yds with dove loads. And it looks like a slug went through.
